Bear & Son Cutlery

With their history in modern pocket knife design, Bear Ops has brought it all to bear in the design of the Nekama. The Nekama is a folding knife with a tactical EDC leaning. The drop point blade is made from Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel, giving it excellent edge retention and corrosion resistance. The blade of this pocket knife is smoothly deployed on bronze washers by utilizing the dual thumb studs to flick it open and lock up securely using a crossbar locking mechanism. The smooth aluminum handles are strategically shaped to fit your hand and keep your grip comfortable during use. The Nekama folder comes with a pocket clip that can be positioned for a left or right-handed tip-up carry.

Cons: None
It may not be my lost Benchmade, but…
I bought this knife to replace my old Benchmade that I lost. I have better knives for specific purposes, but needed something affordable and easy to sharpen for my everyday beater knife. I found this knife and thought it would fit the bill. I read some reviews that made me wonder about quality. While not as smooth as my excellent Kershaw Bellaire, after a little oil and use, it’s plenty smooth. I would say that its edge holding is on par with my old Benchmade 154cm and will sharpen with regular stones. Me biggest complaint is that the scales are completely smooth aluminum. When I pull it out of my pocket, it is more difficult to keep ahold of than other knives that I have. Some sort of texture to aid grip would greatly improve the knife. I understand that any added machine work would add to the cost, but would be worth spending a little more for. Mostly, I really like the knife. It is a decent price for what you get and it’s made in the USA! I suppose that there are comparable import knives but I’m sure glad to see an American company making nice knives that are affordable.

Wow, impressive knife - what a great EDC
Man what a great EDC. Why isn't everyone talking about this one. Geez! American made, priced point great, fits my hand nicely, jimping on the spine is perfect, my thumb just naturally lays on it. Quality control is on spot. No idea why this knife doesn't come up more in conversations but this is a lovely American made knife. Light but with heft to it. Love it.
