Description
BO110031: Enigma
Boker
Boker has always been committed to preserving traditional values in their product range and they take great pleasure in adding special pieces from their company history to the current collection. A case in point is the Boker Enigma. The main blade is secured with a lockback but does not have a classic rocker integrated into the handle. In order to close the main blade, the closed smaller blade is pushed slightly towards the handle, which releases the mechanism. The small blade itself functions as a slipjoint (non-locking mechanism). This extraordinary construction concept is very rare these days, which is why Boker was happy to be able to offer the mechanism to fans of classic knives. Both blades are made from 440C polished stainless steel. Thanks to the sturdy construction of the 0.12" thick main blade, the Enigma is a great utility knife that also comes in very handy for hunters. Beautifully patterned cocobolo wood handles with brass liners and nickel silver bolsters highlight the classic appeal.
440C Stainless Steel
While it was still a high-end steel several decades ago, 440C is a very decent middle-grade steel today. Many users still see it as the perfect "magical trifecta" of edge retention, corrosion resistance and easy sharpening. It is still the first choice for Boker Plus and for many models from Boker's Solingen manufacture.
