Buck Knives

Designed for hunters looking for a blade that can do it all, the Alpha combines high-performance S35VN steel with a solid, high-ground blade shape designed to move easily through material without bunching. Jimping along the blade spines makes it easy to choke up on the blade for those tricky blind cuts. The textured handles provide a strong positive grip even with things get wet. Includes a reinforced leather sheath that keeps your knife on your belt or safely in your pack. The Buck Alpha Hunter is the perfect knife for the hunter that demands the most out of their equipment. Available in two sizes, the Alpha Hunter is the larger version of the Alpha Scout. Just right.

Buck alpha hunter with green richlite handle
I was pumped about getting this knife. I own a lot of knives and use all of them. Most of my knives are bucks with various steels Fromm vintage 100 series to pro versions. The alpha 2023 first impressions were awesome feel in the hand in all knife grips. I noticed the handle on one side is loose out of the box which should be a quick fix. The sheath does not get in the way on your belt because it hangs low. Now for the bad. The knife in the sheath is supposed to be formed to the knife. If the knife is unsnapped in the sheath and is turned upside down, it will easily fall out. Not good for safety while being in the woods chasing critters. I got waxed the sheath with bees wax to provide a more form fit. While this worked, I also had to place a piece of cardboard inside the sheath for a snug fit. A lot of work to put this knife through the paces for the price. Should have been good to go out of the box. The knife will perform because I have used bucks s 35 vn in various models. This one ( the alpha ) has the best ergonomics. Buck needs to step up their form fit sheaths for a knife of this caliber!
