BU503: 503 Prince Knife

Buck Knives

A true classic in a compact package, the Prince is an ideal everyday carry folding knife. Slightly smaller than the popular Squire, it features a slimline design that makes it exceptionally easy to carry. The knife has a 2.50" drop point blade, crafted from satin-finished 420HC stainless steel, a material known for its excellent corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening.

The elegant handle is made from beautiful rosewood Dymondwood, providing a comfortable grip and a sophisticated look. With a closed length of 3.375" and weighing just 2.00 oz., the Prince is a discreet and lightweight addition to your pocket. A reliable lockback mechanism ensures a secure blade lockup, making this knife both a handsome and dependable tool. It's proudly made in the USA, carrying on a tradition of quality craftsmanship.

420HC STEEL

This is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance we harden to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.

DROP POINT

This blade is full bellied with a strong, thick point for heavier tasks. It can also be used as a general work knife. The top of the blade drops down toward the tip, which minimizes accidental puncturing while skinning. The drop point blade is strong and very versatile.

EDC seems right...
I’ve been interested in EDC pocket knives since I was a teenager. I’m 70 years old now and Buck is the brand for my idea of EDC. My Buck 503 Prince is, IMHO, the perfect EDC pocket knife. There are reasons for this...It is a Buck. It is tank tough. Takes and holds an edge. Fit, finish, ‘spit & whittle’ are spot on. Slim but built so strong. Did I mention ‘slim’? Lol. I put it in my pocket and don’t know it’s there in my pocket. I use it for everything around the house, ie. opening mail, cutting tape on boxes, cutting boxes down for trash, I still sharpen pencils with my Buck. It’s not intimidating if I pull it out to use on something. That’s all I’ll list but if you have an EDC knife, you know it goes way beyond what I’ve listed. To me, my Buck 503 (EDC) is at my beck and call for anything and everything I would need a knife for. The Buck 503 is a ‘winner winner chicken dinner’!
