I've always had a fondness for the canoe pattern and have long enjoyed canoeing, so, this canoe with a canoe etched on the blade is right up my alley. Fit, finish, function, sharpness all A-1.But, what's with the kitty litter around the Case shield? I'm not going to tell people that Case was too lazy to wipe their epoxy overrun/squeeze-out from around the shield with a solvent rag, and just stuck it in kitty litter to keep it from sticking to other knives before it dried. I'm gonna tell em it is sand from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. It's special.
Recently inherited grandpa's Case canoe amber pocket knife. He got it when I was a little kid, kept it in its original cardboard package. He told me that it would eventually be mine. Time went by way too fast and now it's one if those "knives with a story" and will eventually be passed down to my kid/grandkid. About the knife: Sharp as can be, nice, smooth and tight. Couldn't ask for a better carry pocket knife.
Have had one since '70's. Always been hard to open. Now use pliers to open.WD-40 DOESN'T help. Leave open now and use to remove seals from bottles. They arehard to open to. Otherwise a great knife. Round corners don't wear out your pockets. Justkeep pliers handy!
