Don't Believe Everything You See
I bought this to replace my longtime monocular of another brand that had succumbed to too much time in humid conditions. This one had the similar closeup features that I liked in that one. But the listing was deceptive. The words in the listing are what you get, but all of the photos are of the higher powered Carson CF-718 Monocular. I did not notice that the text and photos didn't match until after I had ordered. It's a so-so product compared to the one I replaced it with, but at a similar price. Instead of a quick twist of about a half turn to go from one end of the focus scale to the other, this one focuses by push-pull, like a stiff little trombone. It takes more fiddling to get into focus on something closeup, then switch focus to long distance use, and vice-versa. Because I got it on a free shipping weekend, I will keep it. But I don't expect it to be the constant companion that my old one once was. Not recommended. The other brand was better mechanically.
