The Kingston Arms Great Sword is a formidable two-handed weapon designed for powerful cuts and thrusts, making it ideal for clearing paths through lines of pole-arm soldiers and dominating the battlefield. Its double-edged, straight blade features a flattened ricasso, allowing the swordsman to choke up for increased control, dexterity, and maneuverability in close-quarters combat. Parrying hooks at the end of the ricasso prevent the hand from slipping onto the blade while also helping to catch opposing blades or pole-arm shafts.

Designed by CAS founder Barry Ross, this Great Sword is a perfect example of historical accuracy and craftsmanship. At 56 ¼” in total length and weighing 5 lbs., it aligns with the specifications of great swords from the period. The 39.5” blade features a 55.5” double-grooved ricasso with 1 5/8” parrying hooks and a 14.25” blade fuller. The 16” handle boasts a 12.75” leather-wrapped grip for easy handling and the ability to carry it over the shoulder. The double-ringed stainless-steel guard and matte-finish pommel add to its aesthetic, while the 15” wide guard with tapering 12.5 mm quillions provides both style and function. With a balanced design, a 3” balance point from the guard, and harmonics 19” from the tip, this Great Sword offers exceptional balance and superior performance.

Due to the size of the Great Sword, it comes boxed and disassembled to reduce the cost of shipping. Simply slide the guard over the tang followed by the fatter end of the grip, and screw on the pommel for an easy assembly.
