CJBJ1925BST: Pyrite Folding Knife - Black Steel

CJRB Cutlery

When looking for an EDC knife, one of the most important considerations is accessibility to bring the knife to bear quickly. The Pyrite uses a combination of its button lock mechanism with ceramic ball bearings in the pivot to make this knife quick to deploy and always ready in hand. The smooth action allows the blade to be flicked open with one hand with a press of the button lock or a flick of the thumbstuds. This knife can easily double as a fidget toy with how much fun it is to use. The blade is made from AR-RPM9, a proprietary steel that compares to D2 steel with an advantage in corrosion resistance. The handles are comfortable to hold and fits well in the hand thanks to its gentle curve and bevel designed to accommodate the index finger. The Pyrite comes with a reversible deep carry stainless steel pocket clip that allows it to be discreetly carried with you wherever you may go.

Surprised how often I used knife
Very pleased with my first decent pocket knife. I had carried several cheap ones so put down a few bucks more to get this model in 2023. I had shopped via many video reviews and determined this type of folder was best for my almost daily needs. Plus inexpensive so if lost not out a great deal of $$$$. Which happened the other day. Bummer! Very OCD so upset when the lost knife but will get another right away. I only had the knife sharpen once since bought in 2023 and that was because at expo and getting other kitchen blades sharpened so did this one as well. Stays very sharp after cutting a lot of boxes/tapes/bags etc. This is first knife I had with button release blade so I had to learn the 'flick' snap of wrist which is very handy when other hand is holding something to cut. Pocket clip keeps knife in pocket (probably lost mine when put knife down somewhere and left area). Size and weight are OK as no problem carrying it in light weight shorts. In total very satisfied to have had this model and will get another. No need to shop around.

Stoked on this pick up
Hard to give it a 5 star since I've only had it a few days, and my 940 is 5 stars. Bit still impressed with this knife overall. It's sturdy and got some nice weight to it. The blade detent is a bit stubborn at first but the blade flies out and drop shuts no problem. The lm black stainless looks saaaaweeeeet
