CR6885: 6885 Ignitor Assisted Folding Knife

CRKT

We hope to ignite your passion for hi-tech folders with this knife series. That's why CRKT calls it the Ignitor. It raises the bar for all value-priced folders, by using premium blade steel, layered G10 scales, and patented features including assisted opening, a unique knife safety and CRKT's special serrations. We challenge you to find a knife of this quality for the money. Consider these features:

First the blade. It's a modified drop point design with a high hollow grind. We use premium 8Cr13MoV stainless steel. You have your choice of a Razor-Sharp edge or combination Razor-Sharp edge with CRKT's patented Veff Serrations, which are superior for fast cutting of cord, netting and vegetation.

The frame uses CRKT's rigid InterFrame build with stainless steel liners, one locking, and layered G10 scales, textured and CNC machined to aid grip. The deep finger choil and pommel fit the hand nicely. The flat cross-section makes for comfortable in-pocket carry. All models include a removable stainless steel clip.

The standard Ignitor models have a polished blade and frame, with blue and black G10 scales. It's a contemporary and sophisticated look that exudes custom-knife quality.

So that's the Ignitor story. Did you feel a spark? If not, get down to your favorite retailer and put one in your hand.

Wasn't what I expected, but better!
I was looking for a knife to put into my EDC rotation that would be comparable to my O'Light "Duron" that I carry every day. This one foots the bill with a drop point blade and the Veff serrations. The blade is a lower-quality steel than the Nitro-V blade that Duron comes in, but I'm also quite fond of CRKT's. When I ordered this one, I thought it was going to be bigger, but it's not. They just made good use of the blade-to-handle proportion. When I first took it out of the box, I had to flip it open, and it had a rapid *snap* when I flicked it open with a good lockup, a very solid build IMO. I like the hatched G-10 scales. They help keep the knife nestled deep in my pocket without cinching itself out. In comparison, it just about the same blade length and design as my Duron. But it has assisted opening (bonus), with the Veff serrations (bigger bonus), and its all-black color design is a perfect replacement for my Duron. Not to mention it goes with the rest of my murdered-out, all-black EDC goods. Love isn't lost for my O'Light Duron. It's on the shelf above my dump tray to go with the rest of my O'Light collection.
