Cold Steel

The 54VPN Lucky by Cold Steel is the modern re-invention of the classic gentleman's pen knife.

Designed by Lynn C Thompson and Andrew Demko, this exquisite, expertly engineered knife is the ultimate upscale pocket / pen knife.

Astonishingly lightweight, barely moving the scale at a meager 1.2 oz., the Lucky is utterly effortless to carry.

Carry it in a pocket, or use the removable pocket clip to wear it with dress pants or lightweight summer slacks, carry it in a thin shirt pocket or even use it as a tie clip. It's so thin and light you'll forget you even have a knife - but it's always there when you need it!

Made to the highest standards and with the very best materials, the Lucky packs an astonishing amount of capability into one very discreet package.

Its twin blades (one plain edge, one serrated) are made from CPM-S35VN stainless steel, hand fitted and securely nestled between two-tone polished carbon fiber scales – and with an RC of 60-61, the Lucky takes a razor edge that will last!

The Cold Steel Lucky is destined to become the quintessential gentleman's carry knife. Stylish, unobtrusive, elegant and legal almost everywhere in the world, it's a versatile knife that will serve you well for a lifetime and beyond - and look beautiful doing it!

Old school charm, space age tech.
It's beautiful, there's no denying it. It is quite small too but I am absolutely charmed by this pen knife. I had lots of these when I was a kid - ok, they didn't cost as much but then they didn't hold an edge like this does. You're probably not going to work the guts out of it but you could because that's S35VN in there and the handle is incredibly strong. I would term this an occasional knife, for those times when you really, really need a razor sharp, tough as hell blade but left your bowie at home. I spent all day with my brother in the warehouse last week cutting cardboard boxes open, just to see how it faired and it's still taking the hair off my arm and is still a thing of beauty. I don't know any one who would call me a gentleman but this knife makes me feel like one. Love it.

High class med/sm TRUE pocket knife
High quality in every way including steel. I bought another one to collect and pass on to son. Don't know what happened to first reviewers knife but sounds like a different item all together. This is classy, compact and very sharp pocket knife. Best I've ever seen in size and quality with serrated blade an extra in my book. Also like the way they made the half way open notch firm but not difficult..

I am disappointed
I bought this knife as an EDC, and I was interested because of the materials and its design. The knife came out of the box incredibly dull, although the serrated blade was serviceable I'll admit. The carbon fiber scales were absolutely riddled with voids. This wasn't my issue though as looks don't matter much to me. I can say that I'm not used to sharpening a high hardness stainless steel like CTS-XHP, but after about ten minutes I got it hair shaving sharp. My issue with the blade came the next day when I took it to work. I was excited to finally have a stainless knife that wouldn't dull immediately after a day of breaking down cardboard boxes, but alas my knife was somehow dull again before I even got to use it. I couldn't even break skin if I tried. I've resharpened it about 5 times to shaving hair but the results are the same each time. There is something seriously wrong with this knife and I'm starting to wonder if this is the reason Cold Steel switched to S35VN for the Lucky. It is sort of humorous considering its name, but I'm not laughing.
