Guru Ron Balicki is known worldwide for his vast knowledge of Filipino Martial Arts, Thai Boxing, Boxe Française, Silat, Shootfighting, and Degerberg Mixed Martial Arts. He is the founder and chief instructor of MARS (Martial Arts Research Systems), overseeing 2000 MARS instructors and students globally. Cold Steel President, Lynn C. Thompson, has been Ron’s private student and training partner for 20 years! Ron has learned a thing or two about fighting sticks and Cold Steel are proud to introduce his favorite, the Balicki Stick. Slimmer, shorter, and substantially lighter than their standard Escrima Stick, it exhibits Ron's preference for speed and agility. The Balicki Stick is made from high impact virgin Polypropylene and has a subtle wood grain finish. Ron's name is featured in brilliant silver and there are silver bands at each end for visibility and style. It's a must have training stick for anyone interested in the Filipino Martial Arts.

Pros: Weight, Balance, None
Cons: Construction
Strong, light, but can be broken.
My teacher broke one of these sticks during our power hitting training. To be fair, the sticks were hit extremely hard. None the less, they are very much breakable. They are about the same weight as a rattan stick. but don't feel exactly like one and tend to be harder to grip then your standard rattan sticks. Over all they are a decent alternative, but be aware they snap off like a oak wood stick when broken. And only slightly tougher to a denser burnt rattan stick.

Indestructible
These are truly indestructible. We really did our absolute best to destroy these. They barely even show any use and show no signs of abuse.

Exceptional!
i've been training the martial sciences for well over a decade. FMA is by far my favorite. I've spent a lot of money on rattan sticks over the years as with heavy training they bust and split and become spongy. I have used other synthetic sticks and didn't like them. They were either too heavy, had a weird dense feel when they hit together. Rons sticks have solved all of these problems. They're lighter and the feel of contacting sticks feels just like rattan. Wonderful job Guro Balicki. The price is an absolute steal! Everybody in class wants a pair now.
