The Boar Spear is a modern recreation of a design that dates back to the European Renaissance. It is cold forged out of medium carbon SK-5 Steel and, like Cold Steel's other spears, is heat treated to a spring temper. The Boar Spear shaft is made of extra stout premium ash wood.

Stamped Steel
This is a stamped steel gardening trowel that has been sharpened and affixes to an ash pole. The ash pole is good quality, the steel is terrible.

Quality at a fair price.
I can't wait to take this out hunting. It appears sturdy and sharp enough to get through a boar shield. There is a little room for improvement. The rust proof coating can scratch easily. There are screws that hold the head to the shaft. It would be nice to have the shaft pre drilled. The sheath is okay, but one does need to be careful putting it on and taking it off. I can imagine cutting myself having to remove the sheath in a hurry while staring at a big hog.
