All Derespina knives are consistent in profile and style. However, they are all handmade pieces so you will see minute variations from one to the next as Rich likes to keep it interesting and "mix it up" with different grinds and embellishments. He primarily uses G10 for handle material for its tactical, lightweight, and durability properties but can use other materials such as exotic woods or Micarta. Nothing textures quite like G10, nothing!

The steel you find most often on a Desperina custom knife is 154CM but on occasion, he will use D2 or S30V. Ultimately any steel will react and perform excellently with proper ergonomics for the user, proper bevel, and edge geometry for cutting ability and edge retention. The difference between most steels comes down to maintenance. Some are more corrosion resistant than others and require less maintenance which is preferable in his philosophy. 

The Fang Pikal Karambit is a devastating tactical tool that also has a place on your hip for daily carry.
