A single-piece axe head that runs through the innovative overstrike guard ensures durability, while the cutaway in the bottom of the axe head provides additional choke-up utility. A hammerhead on the back is not the end of the features - the waterproof Gear Storage Stick nests in the handle, hosting nine feet of paracord and a compartment for either a mini lighter, firestarter, or dry tinder. Don't be empty-handed when mother nature brings a challenge.

Perfect Camp, Home, & Back Yard Axe
From the fresh Gerber style to its wood cutting finesse there is nothing not to like about it.Also, the compartment in the handle is just a pure practical application bonus as quite frankly it's a small brown "BEAST" that can take a lik'n & keep on cutt'n.Thanks for the opportunity to get one of these!

Lightweight and strong
Excellent axe. The difference between this and your traditional wood handled heavy axe is night and day. I can't believe how light it feels. And strong too. Just before I started using it I had broken a traditional wood handled axe. It got lodged in a stump and I broke the handle trying to rock it back and forth to free the head. No chance of that with this axe. The over guard head won't split off and the composite handle feels a lot stronger than wood. The hammer on the back is a nice touch but unfortunately it's no substitute for a sledge hammer when you're driving in a splitting wedge. It will work but it's a lot of effort. This axe is not cheap but an axe but worth the cost. Despite how light it is compared to a traditional axe I don't think I'd want to carry it in a pack while camping. Might pick up the short handled axe for that.
