KA1317: Dog's Head Utility Knife

KA-BAR Knives

The most famous fixed blade knife in the World - "the KA-BAR" - was designed to serve our troops during World War II and is still doing its job, with honors, more than 50 years later. The Dog's Head Utility Knife, a close relative of the USMC Fighting/Utility knife, presents an alternative to those who wish to have the legendary performance of KA-BAR's military knives in a non-military setting. Ideal for bushcraft, camping, and hunting, the Dog's Head Utility knife is a welcome addition to KA-BAR's robust lineup. It has added a metal butt cap for hammering and the brown leather sheath features a Dog's Head Pirate logo.

Beast of a blade.
This is the best version of the Kabar, if you're a survivalist. Lowered rear hand guard makes it easy to get a good grip. Great knife overall, make sure to get some mink oil for the sheath and handle.

Timeless Ka-Bar Utility, Looks, & Quality
This is my 6th or 7th Ka-Bar knife in the same size as their Navy, Marine, and Army models with the noted difference being the pommel. It is a heavy slab of steel at the bottom of the blade, but doesn't affect how the blade handles compared to other Ka-Bars. Ka-Bar has definitely stepped up their quality control game and I say with confidence that their fit and finish is on par with the likes of Buck, ESEE, and Tops. The leather on both the handle and sheath smells terrific. The edge comes hair shaving sharp from the factory. If you're curious about why this particular piece has lasted virtually untouched in design since WWII, look no further than the Ka-Bar Dog's Head ! Same great steel, ergonomics, materials, and quality that have kept Ka-Bar on the map for over half a century. The butt-cap is literally the only difference between the Dog's Head and regular, military edition models. A quality addition to any knife collection.
