Kershaw Knives

Go plain edge with the Launch 16 – Olive, Black, featuring a versatile tanto blade and extremely high edge retention. This automatic opener withstands the toughest cutting tasks with high-end M4, a balanced super steel with superior hardness and toughness. This auto looks as good as it cuts with an olive Cerakote handle and a black Cerakote blade. The tanto blade shape is ideal for piercing cuts. Even better, the Trac-Tec handle inserts, oversized jimping, and finger choil offer a secure grip. Carry it comfortably on the go with a reversible deep-carry pocket clip. More than a fresh coat of paint, this Launch 16 is a top performer.

Launch 16 AUTO
Nicely constructed. Possibly requires a break in period, as button is a little sticky. Pocket clip on the small side.

Awesome auto for the price
Overall this knife is priced really great for the build quality. I will share Pro’s and Cons, but gave it 5 stars because it is a great knife for the price and relative to other autos in this price range. PROS: Light weight, great blade steel, great handle material, grip & ergonomics, nice jimping. Easy to pocket carry as EDC (forget I have it). Strong, fast auto deployment. Nice aesthetics in my opinion. Good blade size…. Any smaller would be too small, could be a little larger but current size is good for EDC. Lock-up is awesome and very tight. THINGS YOU WILL LOVE OR HATE: The deployment button. It is flush with handle and doesn’t have a tactile difference when feeling it. So, you have to look at first to make sure you are pressing it properly but you get used to it and even after that can still miss if not looking sometimes. Personally, I like how it is flush or a little indented in handle scale. Knife doesn’t have a lock, so I like that deployment button will not get pressed accidentally in pocket and open. The amount of time it would take you to look at button or feel for it is likely the same or less it would take to unlock another auto and then press button. Most times I can press and deploy without looking now. Also, you need to use edge of your thumb to press button and need a firm press. Again, I like that it won’t accidentally deploy easily in pocket although it has no lock. CONS: Pocket clip comes to point and catches on pocket sliding in pocket so can require two hands to make sure pocket fabric doesn’t get caught on clip. Good news is it stays secure with the clip once in pocket. That said, I ordered a new aftermarket clip made specifically for this knife that makes it easier to slide in and out of pocket. That costs about $20. Overall, great knife. I have many but this has been my chosen EDC for now over more expensive knives.
