Designed by Matt Diskin, the Launch 12 is the baby brother of Kershaw's popular Launch 8. Inspired by the look of classic Italian stilettos, the Launch 12 offers a stiletto style for a new generation. More compact than the original Launch 8, the Launch 12 weighs just 1.9 ounces, making it exceptionally easy to carry. The slim blade is sharpened on one side and has a deep top grind to lighten weight and add stiletto style. This version of the Launch 12 features a sub 2" blade, making it legal to carry in the state of California. Integrated fingerguards on handle top and bottom keep fingers away from danger.
This made in the USA automatic knife has stiletto styling in a smaller package. The CPM-154 powdered metallurgy blade steel takes and holds an excellent edge, provides corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and toughness. The lightweight, strong anodized aluminum handle is comfortably slim with a carbon fiber insert, while the low-profile push button makes it harder for the blade to accidentally deploy.

This little guy
So before I bought this knife I did a lot of research and found out 2 things. Kershaws automatics were very reliable and in the state of California automatics have to 2" or less. This guy popped up along my internet adventures and it checked all my boxes.Automatic- checkReliable brand- checkNot eight thousand dollars- checkBeautiful colorway- check.As a restaurant manager I use this knife every single day to open boxes and cut off the flaps. It's been 7months ive never sharpened it and it cuts the same as day 1. The mechanism is so smooth and has never once opened in my pocket. The button has just enough resistance to not open spontaneously, but not so much that it's inconvenient to open. The spring action is fast and locks without question every. Single. Time. It's also super easy to close one-handed.After all my research I knew I'd like this knife, I never thought id love it as much as I do. This knife is a 10/10 edc for me. Tempted to buy 3 more of them incase I lose it.

I found that this knife will do most of my daily cutting tasks. I hate to say “ cute “ but this knife really is! The California legal blade snaps open with authority and keeps an edge a long time.My only issue is the pocket clip. Not a fan, but it dosen’t impact the overall use,This is my first Kershaw Launch but probably not the last. Good job, Kershaw and KC!
