Good starting kit.
This systems is great to get started in the sharpening world, I would advise getting the ceramic hone to complement it, with the standard package you will get a sharp edge but not a mirror polished one.

Taking off steel effectively
Lansky Diamond System is very effective to reshape a new bevel on my dull folder (154CM steel blade). However, it still took some times to master the sharping motion; at first was very unnatural to operate. I use it for a big job - small job I go with Ceramic Rod Systems.
