LSSCUT: Sharp'N Cut Sharpener and Cutter

Lansky Sharpeners

The Sharp'n Cut 2 in 1 portable tool offers users a knife sharpener and a small ceramic blade, all in one convenient package. Featuring an internal magnet that allows you to click it into any convenient metal surface such as a refrigerator, tool cabinet, shelf, etc. The magnet keeps the Sharp'n cut on hand to sharpen or cut in a pinch.

Using the blade of the Sharp'n Cut is as easy as pressing the bottom of the tool against the object you'd like to slice. As with ceramic knives, the ceramic blade of the Sharp'n Cut is extremely hard, wear resistant, and fine enough to cut and slice packing tape, envelopes, paper, packaging etc. As an added feature, the sharpener is engineered with a self-deploying blade guard that retracts with pressure to expose the blade when in use. Once pressure is relieved, the guard automatically deploys to protect the blade.

Features

  • Self-Deploying Blade Guard
  • Internal Magnet for convenient storage
  • Ceramic cutter that stays sharp even after repeated use

Pros: Durability, Ease of Use, Effectiveness, Overall Quality
Cons: None
convenient, easy to use, but dispsoable
Convenient pull-through sharpener. There is a magnet inside which is good or bad depending on your preference. The magnet is nice for putting the sharpener on your fridge, but not so great if yuo are putting it in a bag near a compass. The little ceramic nub at one edge for scoring through wrapping paper is not that useful. I don't see a way to non-destructively open the sharpener to replace the little carbide sharpening blades inside the way you can with an Accusharp. But this is a $5 sharpener and I guess it is intended as disposable. I took off 1 point for that. I left the durability button checked, since it should hold up pretty well until the blades wear out. It won't fall apart on you or anything like that.

Great little gadget
So handy to have on my hobby bench. Cuts and trims on my cutting mat far easier than scissors and has a shrouds for quick blade touch ups too.
