L.T. Wright Handcrafted Knives

Folks have been wanting a properly big bushcraft knife from L.T. Wright Knives, or LTWK, and the Illuminous 5 is here to answer the call! Designed by longtime friend and sheath maker Spen Steltzer (JRE Industries) this survival knife has the power to get you through any tough job in the wilderness.

The broad spear point blade is versatile and tough. Constructed with 5/32" thick CPM-3V steel, it offers the ideal combination of long edge retention and crazy high toughness. Like all L.T. Wright Knives, the Illuminous 5 features a 90-degree spine for striking a fire steel.

The Scandi grind is finished by hand to a razor's edge, which goes all the way back to the heel of the blade for maximum usefulness. This type of edge is perfect for whittling wood, and the symmetrical shape makes it perfect for bushcraft tasks like drilling or making traps.

The Illuminous 5 features comfortable contoured handles inspired by the shape of the classic Ray Mears Woodlore bushcraft knife. Finished by hand to remove any hotspots, they are secured to the tang with a combination of Loveless-style bolts and high-strength epoxy for a lifetime of durability.

The knife would not be complete without a good sheath, and the included JRE Industries leather sheath has good retention and a 3/8" diameter leather loop on the side to facilitate easy carry of a fire steel. Additional rivets allow versatile lashing options. The sheath can be used with the included dangler attachment for drop-leg carry. If you prefer your knife to carry higher on the belt, you can remove the dangler, or simply fold it underneath and out of the way.
