SCH1159326: Delta Class Torsion CLR Folding Knife

Schrade Knives

A member of the Schrade Delta series and more aerodynamic version of its brother, the Torsion from Schrade is a beefy folder featuring Ultra Glide Technology, creating a super smooth action. The high-quality AUS-8 steel features a tanto blade. The non-slip G10 handle allows great grip when using the knife and signifies the upgraded craftsmanship of the Schrade brand.

Just as is the case in a wolf pack, the Delta Class of knives and tools from Schrade are an extremely important part of the Schrade pack and where the boots really hit the ground. The Delta class of knives make up the bulk of the Schrade offering and feature high-quality steels (such as AUS-10) and handle materials and are made in premium factories in China. These smooth, sleek, and durable knives and tools are designed to overmatch the competition and provide customers with an incredible value proposition.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Ease of Opening, Weight
Cons: Handle Feel, Sheath
Sacrifices safety for less weight
Caution: I would recommend removing the clip and only carrying this knife in a sheath. The angular holes in the skeletonized handles are too big and too easy to get fingers into, even when closed, and risk cutting yourself. This is especially dumb design on a knife that you're intended to put your finger through. That out of the way, I bought this and the Gerber Remix "Tactical" at the same time to compare. This was about half the price, sharper out of the box, and much easier to deploy one-handed. In both cases, the ring is a good, secure grip option for bare hand use. In both cases, gloves made the finger hole impractical. The concept has been around a while now, and I'd say that Schrade did a better job at it here than any version Gerber has made. If i could get a Remix with Torsion's pivot circle, or a Torsion with Remix' grip, that would nail it.The tanto edge is much more obtuse than I've seen. I'm not big on the angular shape to start with, but the variant is interesting. It might as well be a belly curve. I didn't mind the lack of serrations that its rival features, and it cuts just fine. It's actually great for the price, but there's no way I'd recommend this knife with these handles.
