Based on the SOG Bowie that helped found our company, this knife has morphed into a top-notch working knife with the use of modern technology and materials (not to mention a little class thrown in for good measure!)

Our modern replica is based on the original Studies and Observation Group knife secretly developed and used in the Vietnam War by the 5th Special Forces, as well as other elite soldiers. These individuals were specialists in reconnaissance, infiltration, and operations behind enemy lines. The SOG Bowie 2.0 has become a classic with unparalleled quality- The a sculpted crossguard, deep hollow grinds, precision detailing, TiNi coating, and faceted tip are all unmistakable signatures.

Cryogenic Heat Treatment
SOG's unique cryogenic heat treatment process increases the toughness and wear resistance of our blades. Taking the knife slowly down in temperature to less than -300°F and then back to room temperature. This stress relieves the material on an atomic level and increases overall strength as well as edge retention. Knife edges stay sharp longer with significantly less micro-fracturing and edge-chipping. Its this dedication to making your knife SOG sharp that sets us apart from the rest.

Sog bowie
sog is not the company that was in the 1990's when thier knives were made by Ichiro Hattori. The original bowies were a thing of beauty precision made to last generations, the current models may resemble the Classic models but don't be fooled they are a shadow of the originals. I had mine for a few days before the handle fell off. Buy a Japanese cold steel or Fallkniven that are still made by the Master Hattori. If you want a cheep knife that will last buy a Kabar, don't send your money to China so they can use it to build warships.
