The Spike Axe is a design that dates back centuries and primarily excels in combat situations. The Stroup Spike Axe is made with a chunk of 1095 high carbon steel with comfortable milled G10 handles and it just feels indestructible. The spike is unsharpened for a little extra safety for the user but it in no way affects performance.
