Diamond Sharpner That Works!
I have used this brand for almost 20 years and found it does an excellent job on kitchen knives, pocket knives, utility blades and larger blades. Results on the steel are very similar(as seen under magnification) to the results of a good Soft Arkansas Oil Stone. The secret is to use LIGHT pressure and let the diamonds do the work. If you bear down, you will fill up the matrix of the sharpener and ruin the diamond sharpener. Also, this is a light duty tool, not suitable for sharpening axes, garden tool or machete. Garden tools are better served with a flat bastard mill file. For my high grade kitchen knives I use a few light strokes of the Ultimate Edge Sharpener and follow up with a medium steel. Knives will last a very long time and offer superb performance. For pocket knives a few strokes will bring back a nice edge. Also use on utility knives, sharpening the razor blade after cutting up cardboard boxes. This is a tool that really works....Always let the diamonds do the work and use very light pressure when sharpening.
