worse than useless - wish I had not bought it.
I bought this hoping to replace an OXO serrated peeler that works very well, but one side of the blade mechanism has broken due to my (apparently abusive) attempt to peel a thick rinded squash. I can still use it carefully, and even in its current condition it works better than the Victorinox.. The OXO has pointed tips on the serrations, whereas the Victorinox does not seem to.The Victorinox tears the skin and flesh of every tomato I have tried it on, and can not achieve a continuous strip of peel (which the OXO can). It seems it is not capable of working as intended. I don't think this is user error, or a defective unit. It might work on a potato or apple, but i bought it for tomatoes, which were named in the intended uses in the blurb.I am really surprised this is such a poor product from Victorinox. I have multiple SAKs of various types and sizes that work quite well. I have Victorinox chef and boning knives that take a good edge and have good ergonomics.This is one of the most useless and annoying culinary implements I have ever encountered. I recommend buying the OXO instead, which i what I will have to do.
