Jameson JJ's Canoe Knife Kit. These kits were first put together by a woodworking hobbyist as a Christmas gift for his son J.J. The pieces are hand cut and hand packaged in the USA. Each kit features six pieces cut from American hardwood; three metal pins; instructions; and metal storage tin. Blade(s) are unsharpened. Finished knife size is 3 1/2" closed. Contains small parts, keep away from small children. This kit makes one single blade canoe. Great gift idea! Ages 7 & up. Made in USA.

Wooden Pocket Knife
I got this kit to put together with my kid. Over all satisfied with the product. It was simple to assemble and we enjoyed the process. Part of the spring was broken but I just glued it back together.

Fun project
I bought two of these for my kids (7 and 3), and we had a lot of fun putting them together. The wooden "spring" lock is awesome, and I think this is a great way to introduce young kids to the safe handling of knives. The knives seem strong (though the blade is quite thin, so not for prying, etc.), however the metal pins that hold it together do seem a bit loose (they don't fall out, but the handles need to be pushed back together after a few uses. Not a big deal, and nothing a few drops of glue won't fix. You will need some wax for the blade/lock to achieve a smooth opening. I ended up finishing these with a bees wax based wooden spoon finish, and they look great!
