Absolutely great looking knife! I've been using it for the past couple of weeks and it has completed every task I have thrown at it.

Great blade!

I have two of these now, and all I can say is that they are great. The balance, shape, ergonomics, etc... this is hands doen one of the best daggers I have ever handled. (Not to mention good looking) The grind on both of mine was completely crisp and straight, and they both have a good edge. I was a little worried about the tang, but after taking mine apart it turns out it almost has a full tang as it is thick and wide and stops just before the lanyard hole, so this knife will be extremely durable and unlike some daggers is actually functional as a utility knife as well. The recent price jumps aren't really fair to the consumer, but I don't regret buying this knife, it is a classic and holds its own against similary priced daggers. And knifecenter had great service as always of course. Thank you!

a true combat knife

its very subdued finnish are great iven when wet it stayes were it is saposed to when you put it with plastic sheath makes great boot knife throws like a dream it was sharp when it arrived but could have been sharper but thats with most production knivesif ya want a straght razor with a point this is the knife for you

Nice dagger

I like Applegate - Fairbairn knives by Boker. Exellent quality of knife itself but i do't like the kydex sheath . This sheath car really scratch the new knife out of the box , i think that it is unexepteble . So i carry my AF Black in cordura sheath wich is sold separatly .

A good sound combat dagger.

This dagger is robust and will prove to be effective for it's designed purpose. I would not misuse this as a utility or general purpose knife.

Review for Boker Applegate-fairbairne black combat dagger 6" double ed

I use this mostly for show/collecting. The knife was perfect, great balance for throwing,,and razor sharp from tip to tip and everything in between Great knife, you can't lose.

Good knife for the price.

I like the weight and balance. It is only 2 ounces lighter than my kabar ek44 but it feels like it's half the weight. Flips grip nicely, flicks out easily on the backhand. Thumb groves are in the right spot for fencing with a saber grip and feels just as secure in a reverse grip. Not quite as sharp as a fighting knife should be but sharper than most factory blades. Mine came with a bur on the screw in the handle which needed to be sanded down but I guess at this price point quality control can't be perfect. Sheath is fantastic and worth all of the markings on the coating from drawing it. I also like stainless for a blade like this since the edge isn't likely to see a lot of work and you don't need to worry about keeping it oiled so it doesn't rust out in the sheath.

Not as advertised

1) Didn't come with cordura sheath. Kydex ruins black blades just by sheathing & unsheathing. 2) Has no signatures of Applegate & Fairbairn on blade. 3) Dispatched swiftly, but not as advertised, or confirmed by e-mail. "Sorry about that" is a poor excuse for customer service. 4) Factory grind inconsistent. Blade not sharp. If you want one I suggest you shop elsewhere.
