I am a farmer. The Buck 722 gets a hard time cutting everything from twine to fence tape and more. Every strong handle, easy to open one handed and close. Nice and thin in the pocket. True Buck quality. I would buy a 722 again.
I really like this knife for its size and weight. Especially when I want a lighter knife, this is one of my preferred knives. Although I have not scratched my handle yet, I keep expecting it to happen. That said, the aluminum handles are very light weight. The only thing I do not like about this knife is the blade shape near the choil / blade heel. Specifically, there is a dip in the blade. Although I think this dip adds to the visual appeal, it makes it more difficult to sharpen on a stone because a flat surface cannot easily get into the dip to sharpen it. When I use my Spyderco Sharpmaker, the flat edge will not do a great job on the dip, the edged surface gets in there with no problem. Anything with a rod will sharpen this well and I have not had a problem using my work sharp electric knife and tool sharpener which uses thin sand paper belts. I own more than one of these and the one I carry most has the S30V blade, but buck 720HC holds a great edge. Based on the price, this knife is hard to beat. When I want something light with a pocket clip, I usually grab a buck 722 or a Benchmade Bugout (significantly more expensive). To put it into perspective, my two preferred knives of this style when weight is less of a concern are the Case Marilla and the heavier Buck 040 (much more expensive). For the price, you should just get one or two of these. The knife feels solid and works well. I prefer the lock mechanism over a Frame Lock. My largest complaint is that it is more difficult for a one hand opening, but I can still do a one hand opening; A very careful one hand opening.
Perfect little EDC knife. Just the right size. Smooth action. High-quality feel. American made. Definitely recommend this knife for anyone looking for a nice, all-around pocket knife.
This is a well made USA knife. I like the feel of it in hand, as well as it's heft. The blade came sharp. There was a little wobble in the blade when open, but tightening the lock pivot got rid of that! I'm pleased with this knife as well as the other Buck knives that I own. I'm also pleased with the great service from the Knife Center and the reasonable shipping, Thanks guys!
Great all around lightweight but hefty pocket knife. The clip keeps the knife in place and the blade is razor sharp. Highly recommend as a daily multi use knife.
Picked this up a few months ago. Razor sharp out of the box and the lock-up couldn't be more sold. Feels great in the hand too. Negatives are there are rough edges all around. Easy enough to file but something you will have to do on your own. Easy to open with one hand, but definitely not something to be "flicked-open."

Perfect for my EDC it fits in my front pocket very well. The knife profile slim and weight light with solid construction. The blade comes sharp all I had to do is put it on my steel for a couple swipes to get it razor sharp. The feel in my hand and pocket is very streamline.
Good for cutting rope, braided fishing line. Nicely put together, good secure pocket clip, I like the orange color. Good all around boating knife, but the handle will wear your hand out with repetitive cuts.
Unfortunately had high expectations for this knife, but was disappointed right out of the box. Not the typical Buck quality I am used to and expect in their products. Scale screws were loose. Blade very difficult to open. Some play in the blade in the locked position. Noticed no washers on either side of blade axis/pivot which I found unusual and likely a reason for the difficulty in blade opening. Blade rubs against aluminum handles upon opening and closing. Residual globs of grease/lube covered part of handles and blade. Aside from the normal Buck sharpness of the blade, the rest of the knife was a disappointment. Much better knife options available at this price range. I can not recommend this knife.

Poor Quality
Save your 50 dollars for a better quality knife. Fit and finish on the Spitfire are bad. The body screws have to be lose with visible gaps between the scales and bar in order to open the blade. I oiled it, worked it several hundreds times, disassembled it and sanded then polished all the rough parts until it was very smooth, but it still won't open easily with one hand. I like to buy American and support American knifes makers, but I would not buy this Buck again at any price. It's quality is just too bad. If you want a good American knife, buy a Hogue, Spyderco or Demko. Sure, they cost more, but they actually work.
