this better in person the pic does no justice. if you like buck knives, buy this and you will not be disappointed. this is a well made knife the handle fits perfect in my large hand and feels right sharp as a razor otb

ExCellent survival knife

Well made like everything Buck makes. Super sharp out of the box, well-fitted and attractive. The handle is perfectly shaped and the material used makes the Selkirk easy to grip and hold on to. I especially like the fire starter slot and the sheath which can adjusted to accommodate varied carrying preferences.

The knife itself is superior quality especially at that price point. Super sharp with ceramic coating with integrated sharpener and fire striker. Excellent package certainly for price

Bug Out Bag Essential

You can signal with the whistle, or fire you start. Stay warm and cook with the same fire. Use the knife for getting some vittles to cook on said fire. And defend yourself if need be. Cut up some saplings and pound some stakes to make shelter with integrated flat butt end of knife. The sheath allows for vertical, or horizontal carry. All in a tight, good looking package/ set-up.

Good knife

The fit and finish are very good for the price. The handle fits nice in my hand, has a very nice secure feel. Is very sharp, I read it had a ceramic coating, so the sharpness might be hard to repeat. It has CHINA on the blade in very small letters, but this was stated on the advertisement. It has been a pleasure working with the knife center. The sheath is toward the upper end, I like the grind on the knife. I hope ?? the quality control was good on this knife (made in China ). The knife has the look of quality, and the fire starter and mount were done well. I would recommend this knife.

Very sturdy knife

Very sharp stout blade. Great fitting sheath which is adjustable for different carry modes. Nice heavy bolster for hammering. Only downside-made in China. Great all around outdoor knife.

great knife, had a lot of experience with Buck 420 steel and have never had an issue. A lot of bad reviews are from people who do not own the knife but I think it is a great tool. Looks good, works good, lifetime warranty, and because of where it is made, relatively inexpensive.

Excellent Knife with Poor Sheath

First of all, the 863 Selkirk is an excellent medium size EDC knife. I did notice, however, that the grip loosened after a couple of days handling it. Got a screw driver and solved the problem. The problem isn't directly with the knife but the belt clip portion of the sheath. Instead of keeping it simple, Buck decided to get elaborate with a rigid system. It doesn't fit very well when it's attached to the waist belt and there's no other reasonable way of making adjustments.Really bummed about that because the knife itself would be great as a EDC. Because of that, I keep it around the house for self-defense purposes.
