exceeded my expectations

I bought myself one of these a year or two ago, because I wanted a beefy knife for work, something that could take some abuse. Out of the box it felt comfortable in my hand, and had a smooth opening action, albeit slightly slow. It opens weirdly slow with a light tap of the flipper tab, almost as if to give someone a chance to get out of your way. If you're in a hurry, however, a bit more pressure will rocket the blade into position. The flipper tab is large and has plenty of leverage. It isn't obtrusive, though. The lock engages securely and doesn't have any play, though after a while it seems to develop a slight sideways wiggle in the pivot. With the satin steel handle, it doesn't have the best grip in foul weather or with cold hands, but the flipper tab keeps your fingers away from the blade. The deep carry clip holds well, and the knife goes easily in and out of the pocket. I ended up liking this knife more than I thought I would, and carry it often. A friend really liked mine, so I bought him one as a gift.

Amazingly Designed, flawlessly crafted

I am constantly looking for new edc blades and tools for my everyday use. I work at a camp in the Sierras and use my equipment hard every single day, so I quickly weed out poor designs or cheaply made products. The full-size Jettison has quickly become my favorite edc knives and suits my needs very well. The design is sleek and light, so it slides into the pocket very well without being too bulky or cumbersome. The modified sheepsfoot blade is very unique and can be used for a variety of different tasks, and the frame lock is incredibly solid so there is absolutely no wiggle or play in the blade when it is deployed. Overall, a top-quality design at a killer price.

Best knife for the price

This knife has become one of my favorite EDC. The knife feels very balanced in your hand and the blade flips very fast. For the price this is a steal.

CRKT did it again

It's a great knife. The handle fits the hand really good and you can keep a really good grip no matter what you use your knife for, letter opener, box cutter or making a spear. I never thought I would have a use for a wharncliffe style blade, this knife is and has been in my pocket since I got it a few weeks ago.

Pretty Good Knife For The Money.

Love the Modified Sheepsfoot blade, That's what first attracted me to this knife. I think a sheepsfoot is probably one of the most useful blade shapes you can get, and with the sharper than normal point, for a sheepsfoot, it may be even more useful. Good sharp blade out of the box. Handles are a little slick in my hands, but I was expecting that, so I can't hold that against it. Smooth handles are usually a little slick. Good early lock up, and no blade play whatsoever. Might like to have had a little jimping on the spine and a thumb stud, but with the blade shape it might have been hard to get it where you could actually use it. Could use a little stronger detent to build up more energy, but it still flips open well if you push button it. On mine, if you try to light switch it, it will open solidly about half the the time. Looks like it has Teflon washers on the pivot, which is okay by me at this price point. I've had knives with Teflon washers that lasted a long time. Overall, I'd say i really like this knife. Probably won't carry it much because of the handle slickness, but it's fun to play with and I love the way it looks, which is the biggest reason I bought it. Nothing wrong in my opinion with buying a knife just because you like the way it looks. I mean it's my money, right? Thanks to Knife Center for another great knife and their outstanding service.

GREAT knife! Love the blade shape. The Chinese steel is really better than any others similarly priced. ONLY change I would like is a larger handle. For a folding knife, I always prefer "flippers" for ease of one-handed operation.

It’s the handle

When I got the knife, I about got rid of it. The handle comes to a pretty pointy end which digs into your hand when you first start flipping it open. It’s not something you’ll be able to ignore. It hurts. I work construction and have used all kinds of different knife configurations for work, both as a civilian and military. This was the first knife that actually caused me physical pain just trying to open. Fast forward a couple months and more than a dozen blisters later, and it’s loosened up enough to be a functional edc. The blade is great for sharpness and it’s heavy enough to open fairly quickly when flipped. But overall, I wouldn’t recommend buying this one.
