Fantastic knife

My boyfriend has always wanted this knife since he was a little boy. I was able to get it for him for a graduation present and I’ve never seen him so happy. Typically he carries a knife on him, wherever we go. Now seeing him carry this knife makes me extremely happy.

The break-in period is real!

Really just posting this for people that are new to CRK and those looking to buy their first. So I recently ordered my first two CRK knives, an Umnumzaan and a large 31. Both brand new from a reputable distributor. I had never even seen a CRK in person prior to them arriving. The Zaan arrived first and I was blown away. The lock up was rock solid and the action felt like oiled glass. I could flick it right out of the box (I know, I know... don't flame me.) This made me even more excited for the Sebenza to arrive since it's always been somewhat of a grail knife for me. Well, a few days later it showed up aaannndd I was disappointed to say the least. The lock up was just as solid but the action left A LOT to be desired. I was tight.. like tight tight, and borderline gritty. I broke it down, cleaned and lubed it, then reassembled it, making sure to tighten the pivot as little as possible without allowing for blade play. It only got maybe 5% better. I had read about the break- in period but since my Zaan was smooth out of the box, I just resigned myself to the fact that the Seb would never be as smooth. Well, I'm now a month into ownership of the Sebenza and I have opened/closed it A LOT and cleaned/ lubed one more time. I'm very excited to say, my tight and gritty Sebenza is now every bit as smooth as my Zaan! Long story short, if you just bought your first CRK and you're disappointed by the action, don't lose faith! Keep working it... because the break-in period is VERY real.

5 star, incredible lifetime knife

Don’t mind the 4 star review, this knife opens fine with one hand ;) In all seriousness, the Sebenza 21 and now the 31, is one of the greatest designed and most well built knives made… ever. This is a knife that you can own for life and trust that it will serve you, then your children and grandchildren well. It’s that well built. The blade metal is amazing and sharpens great, plus the cutting geometry is outstanding. Plenty of belly in the drop point and really thin behind the edge to slice great. The large and small size are equally useful and both carry outstandingly well in the pocket. The frame lock is incredibly strong, the lockup is rock solid and the pocket clip is outstanding. Buy once, cry once… you won’t regret owning, using and enjoying a Chris Reeve Sebenza.

Beautiful and functional

The titanium scales have just the right grip. The blade is razor sharp. Easy one hand opening and closing. It's a beautiful and functional pocketknife. Great size for large hands. Customer service at Knife Center is second to none.

20 Year Knife

I have had this knife about 2 months now and carry it daily. The quality of this knife is very good, it's well made, well balanced and comfortable to hold. I removed the pocket clip and lanyard and it fits nicely in my pocket. I expect to carry this knife for the next 20 years. The reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it's difficult (not impossible) to open one handed. It's clearly not designed to be opened one handed, which is a disappointment. With practice it's possible to open it one handed. You have to curl your fingers under to hold the edge of the handle and be completely off the frame-lock before pushing the blade-lug with your thumb.
