I’m not sure why the coated blade variants are so much cheaper than the uncoated, but it sure seems like a no-brainer to get one of these with S35VN over the Lite version for just a few dollars more. I got the black on black, and it’s a legit tank of an AD-15. It was stiff out of the box, but it broke in in 10 minutes of opening and closing. The Scorpion Lock works just like it should. It came nice and sharp, like all CS. The edge bevel is symmetrical. Fit and finish are good to go - don’t know if the coating will chip, but I’ll find out soon enough. Hopefully, they’ll remain at this price point. Again, it’s a lot more affordable than the plain blade variants (especially the plain w/ black scales), so maybe they have sold enough of the old runs to bring the prices down for new ones. This is the best deal going right now for a premium AD-15.
