CS58SQBKBK: 58SQ-BKBK Andrew Demko AD-15 - Black/Black

Cold Steel

The AD-15 might be the most comfortable, user-friendly, sub-four-inch tactical folder Cold Steel has ever made. Modeled after Andrew Demko's patented original, it offers ambidextrous operation and opens and closes with one hand. The saber ground spear point blade comes with a false edge and includes jimping on the spine to assure great piercing ability and edge control when precision cutting is required. The AD-15's unique hybrid handle is what distinguishes it the most; because it features Andrew's famous Scorpion Lock. You see, the bottom portion of the handle has 3D-machined G10 scales mated to steel liners, while the upper portion of the handle, called the "yoke" is crafted from a 3D-machined 6061 aluminum billet that includes an integral backspacer which conceals a strong compression spring. To open the knife, simply engage the thumb stud and watch the yoke rise up until it falls snugly into a deep notch cut in the blade's tang. Held securely by constant pressure from the spring and, supported by the strength of one's grip, the Scorpion Lock is virtually immune from failure!

Amazing!
This is my first pocket knife in about a decade due to reasons, and this one was not a mistake!I love this thing!I didn't really have any callouses on my fingertips, so this one has been chewing on my hands for a couple weeks, although callouses are rapidly developing!I love how easy this knife is to open/close one-handed, and I completely agree with the comments that the AD-15 is the fidget spinner of the knife world!I look forward to some Original Goat Titanium scales soon!

Beefy Boi!
Not gonna lie. Bought this beefy boi on a whim to round out my collection. Normally I EDC lighter knives such as the Demko AD20.5 Titanium or my We Visions. That being said, the Demko AD-15 is an absolute beast! Though I can't see myself EDC'ing it much, it is definitely my new absolute favorite knife for any hard use task. Its large, heavy, has an insane good lockup which makes it practically a fixed blade in your hand. Depite being such a big knife, its surprisingly ergonomic in the hand and fits well. Overall I would not be afraid to take this one out into the woods and beat up on it with hard use.Admittedly the unique locking mechanism of the AD-15 takes a bit of getting used to, and I had to flick it open and shut a few dozen times to break it in as it was minorly stiff out of the box. But the S35VN blade was razor sharp and ready to go! This is a hard use knife ready to go out of the box!I'd highly recommend this knife for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors or uses their knife for hard use tasks. This Beefy Boi is up for the challenge!

Get One
I’m not sure why the coated blade variants are so much cheaper than the uncoated, but it sure seems like a no-brainer to get one of these with S35VN over the Lite version for just a few dollars more.I got the black on black, and it’s a legit tank of an AD-15. It was stiff out of the box, but it broke in in 10 minutes of opening and closing. The Scorpion Lock works just like it should. It came nice and sharp, like all CS. The edge bevel is symmetrical. Fit and finish are good to go - don’t know if the coating will chip, but I’ll find out soon enough. Hopefully, they’ll remain at this price point. Again, it’s a lot more affordable than the plain blade variants (especially the plain w/ black scales), so maybe they have sold enough of the old runs to bring the prices down for new ones. This is the best deal going right now for a premium AD-15.
