Very Handy!

This is the "field" version of the CS Spetsnaz E-tool. It's much more useable for yard work and chores requiring lots of digging. It has all the attributes of the superb e-tool but with more leverage by virtue of the longer handle. I would recommend this for any off-roading. Wish there was a cover for it!

Solid shovel

Bought this shovel with the idea I'd keep it in the trunk of the car for emergencies. With the long handle plus very sharp shovel head the uses for this are numerous. Don't see it staying in my car for long. But due to the sharpness of the shovel, a sheath would be a real positive. The sheath for the 19.6 inch shovel will not fit the 30 inch model. So in search of a sheath for this awesome little shovel.

Awesome

This tool is amazing... I have owned the original 20 inch version for a few years now and I never go to the woods without it. This is the same great product only on steroids! It’s practically a canoe paddle. Granted that it will be a little heavier than its predecessor and the added length will make it a little more challenging to pack. These features might be a turn-off for folks who put an emphasis streamlining their gear. But for the folks who appreciate a hefty, reliable tool, the added length and mass is what will certainly “BRING THE PAIN” Highest possible recommendation on this one!

Best Shovel I Ever Had

Great for digging and fire management....Even better for double handed throwing! You will need about 10-15 paces from the target to get a good heft and rotation. The shovel head sinks into it's target like a proper tomahawk. Please do give it a go.You're welcome. But....it did only take me and a few buddies to break 3 out of 4 handles of our shovels, respectively.

Great tool needs sheath

This longer version would be 5-star ... if Colt Steel offered a sheath for it.I have the standard-sized Spetsnaz in my vehicle for helping others with snow/mud contingencies. Also, I've sharpened the edges for emergency ax and defense use. Useful but not a problem if law enforcement stops you for whatever reason. And if you had to defend yourself, "All I had to defend myself was my car shovel, Your Honor." How about a sheath, Cold Steel?

No sheath??

I have the original Spetsnaz shovel, with its excellent sheath ... always within reach in my truck. I've sharpened the four sides, and then blackened the sharp edges so it looks like "just a shovel" if law enforcement should ever question it. It will get me unstuck from snow or mud ... or be an effective self-defense tool. That's why I would never buy the longer version if Cold Steel doesn't make a sheath for it.
