CS92SFX: Spetsnaz Trench Shovel

Cold Steel

The Cold Steel Special Forces Spetsnaz Shovel is modeled after an original Soviet "Spetsnaz" military entrenching tool. It has a stout hardwood handle, a broad flat steel blade, and 3 sharp edges. It's ideally suited for digging foxholes and bunkers, to chop branches, build shelters, act as an improvised paddle, and even as a last-resort weapon of defense! It's even an excellent alternative to a Tomahawk for sport and recreational throwing! This larger variation, called the Spetsnaz Trench Shovel, has all the winning features of the Special Forces model, with the added benefit of enhanced size. It is 50% longer in length and has a slightly larger shovelhead so it is not compatible with the SC92SF sheath.

Great tool needs sheath
This longer version would be 5-star ... if Colt Steel offered a sheath for it.I have the standard-sized Spetsnaz in my vehicle for helping others with snow/mud contingencies. Also, I've sharpened the edges for emergency ax and defense use. Useful but not a problem if law enforcement stops you for whatever reason. And if you had to defend yourself, "All I had to defend myself was my car shovel, Your Honor." How about a sheath, Cold Steel?

No sheath??
I have the original Spetsnaz shovel, with its excellent sheath ... always within reach in my truck. I've sharpened the four sides, and then blackened the sharp edges so it looks like "just a shovel" if law enforcement should ever question it. It will get me unstuck from snow or mud ... or be an effective self-defense tool. That's why I would never buy the longer version if Cold Steel doesn't make a sheath for it.

Very Handy!
This is the "field" version of the CS Spetsnaz E-tool. It's much more useable for yard work and chores requiring lots of digging. It has all the attributes of the superb e-tool but with more leverage by virtue of the longer handle. I would recommend this for any off-roading. Wish there was a cover for it!
