Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Handle Material, Lock Type, Overall Quality, Pocket Clip, Weight
Cons: Ease of Opening, Lock Ease of Use

It just needed Skiffs

The action on this little gem was very stiff out of the box. The flipper would work with added wrist, but flicking with the hole was highly impractical. I thought it was lock bar/detent pressure, but swapping in a pair of Skiff bearings (5mm pivot, 1/16in bearings) has made the knife quite snappy.

An AMAZING knife but...

This knife is an amazing feat of modern knife making. That said it has a major flaw. Because of the strength/pressure/sensitivity of the frame lock it is extremely difficult to flip open using the flipper tab & IMPOSSIBLE to thumb or finger flick the blade open. I had to Dremel in flipper tab jimping for an assist. Being all carbon fiber there is nothing to bend/adjust/manipulate to fix this which is a shame because this knife deserves to be better than this. (at least my example) It is also a two handed job to release the blade when closing because of the frame lock pressure. The first 20-30 times I actuated the blade it took a standard screwdriver blade to release the frame lock. After 500 or so actuations it is not much better. I love & appreciate this for what it is but this is NOT a good EDC. If you collect like I do, well, fair enough but be forewarned this knife is not something that you will want to carry every day. It is a labor of love.

Very nice overall

I really like this knife and love the full carbon fiber scales on both side. I have two main complaints about it. 1) the lock bar is rather stiff which causes the detent to be rather stiff also. Not too bad, but its a thing. 2) I don't know why they made the blade stock so thick. The handles are soo light, but yet the blade seems unnecessarily thick leading to the knife not being as light as you might expect. But with those two things I still really like the knife.

Update on previous review...

After carrying this knife for a while I can say this. I am still disappointed in the action of this knife. For the $$ this should be a much better knife. I have dissembled & polished the steel lock bar insert & blade contact areas & even cut in flipper tab jimping (which I'm sure has voided the warranty). This has made it easier to engage & disengage the blade but because of the excessive lock bar pressure, thumb flicking or reverse flicking this blade remains absolutely impossible. This purchase has been a HUGE disappointment. Fox Knives, if you read this you should do something to make this right. I can NOT recommend this knife to anyone. FOX, please feel free to contact me through KC. I am a a huge fan of Jesper Voxnaes & own several examples of his work but this piece does not do him justice. If this were a "Budget" knife it would be a different story but IT'S NOT. I challenge you to make this right!

Still no joy...

I took the advise of the previous reviewer & installed Skiff bearings in my SURU. There was a very minor change in blade action & smoothness but the flipper tab remains the only way to operate this knife. There may be an inherent problem with my example.
