My EDC

I was going to buy the buck sentry but it was discontinued so I grabbed this. Actually my wife recommended it and it ended up being the most reliable knife I own. I carry this every time I leave the house and use it at home several times a week as well. I cut my veggies, fruit and meat with it. I use it in the yard all the time. Last weekend I cut an old garden hose into about 10-15 pieces and it still shaved my arm afterwards. I made a late night stop to my storage unit last winter and found it to have major ice buildup in front of the door. I used my strongarm to break it all up. The skull crusher on the end worked perfectly. The sheath is best carried scout style, since the cloth part comes unsnapped too easily in vertical carry. Overall probably the strongest and most reliable knife I’ve ever owned. If I lost it I would buy another.

About time

Good things come to those who wait and like me and thousands of other blade nuts , Gerber was on my not to by list , I always felt they just didn't meet my standards of quality knives they were junk!! But every know and then somebody hits a home run !!! And Gerber nocked it out of the park!!! I would love to see this knife in a 6 or 7 inch blade it would put alot of combat knives to scheme , and Gerber wouldn't be able to make enough for are military and suvilans , for just every day use camping , splitting wood , on the farm , I own quit a few Ontario and ka bars , love to see this bad Boy larger, and it's a exellent thrower !! Great job Gerber keep America , proud and strong , I feel we lost that some were along the way God Bless the USA and all the troops who are serving!!

Great Survivalist Knife!

I got this knife over 10 yrs. ago just to have around in case I needed a "do it all" knife while out and about. It's my first quality knife. Just recently started to take it with me while on hikes and don't even know I'm carrying it with the compact sheath set up. You can't go wrong with the StrongArm.

Great knife

This knife is good but not great, I honestly don't believe it's worth $70. I switch between this knife and the SOG seal pup and both work very well for EDC while outdoors. Definitely recommend but wait for a sale.

It’s OK

I think at some level a knife is like a shoe or glove in that you have to find one that is a good fit for you... just feels right. Personally, I just don’t care for how this knife feels in hand. The handle feels too thin and rectangular in hand to me.... doesn’t have a good palm swell. I felt the same way about the Gerber LMF with it’s more rectangular grip as opposed to rounded. Just not a knife that feels good in hand to me but may work well for others. That aside, I think it is an OK value. Decent heavy duty jack of all trade knives with hybrid survival tactical features. The negative is that it doesn’t really excel in either area, but still costs a decent chunk of change. Blade is a little too thick for true tactical and handle too thin... not the best grip. Blade is not the best shape (in my opinion) for a great survival bushcraft type blade and again not a great handle for that either. The sheath is pretty good and the knife has been durable thus far. If it cost less it would be a great knife to throw in a big-out-bag as a back-up, etc. If I could do it again, I would pass on buying this blade and put the money toward an Esee. If you like the LMF you will likely enjoy this knife. Again, a decent knife for the money, just didn’t work for me.
