Perfect for field dressing

This knife has the sharpest edge I have ever seen. It is definitely not made for cutting anything hard like bone but is the perfect field dressing knife. I use a heavier knife for the rough stuff and this knife for all the delicate stuff you don't want to pierce. All my friends are ordering them.

Great Gift

I bought this as a gift for a friend who expressed some interest in it. I have a similar one with an orange handle and it's awesome. I know it's for skinning animals--which I'm sure it's great for--but I use it all the time to cut tape and cardboard.

Folding Scalple with replaceable blades

Handle fits your hand comfortably and has that incredible number 60 blade! I use mine for making the inital cut while skinning catfish. Very sharp blade and light knife handle allow for detail cuts without getting too deep.

Can take care of any game you take in Oregon with 1 blade. To easy to carry extras. Have not owned anything easier to use. If ya don't have one, get one. Pay attention, if ya slip, ya bleed.

The Problem's fixed.

I love the 60XT blade from the original Havolon Pirata - who doesn't! There are three things that have been fixed on this later model. Most importantly is the liner lock. You can actually move it with a finger instead of requiring two hands. The access to the pivot joint screw head with the pocket clip attachment geometry changed with a cutout so now you don't have to take it off. The improved thumb studs allow the blade now to be opened with one hand. The black plastic is actually very solid feeling and light but I think it looks a little less rich looking than the first generation metal. But it's always been about the 60xt blade and this is a huge improvement using it out of the pocket.

Great System!

I use my knives mainly at work, mostly for opening packages, but also as tools, which is why I've always used a multi-tool with pliers and screwdrivers in the past. The big problem has always been that the blade gets blunt eventually, and I've never been able to successfully sharpen them back to the razor edge of a new blade. But now - the Piranta! This knife is very light, you hardly notice it clipped on to your pocket, and best of all, when the blade gets dull you just replace it! I will say that these blades are definitely stronger than a normal scalpel blade, but not as strong as a traditional edc. Still, if you break one, just replace it!
