Another reasonable priced very good knife from Kershaw

I like the black out of the knife, very thick blade. It will be a great complement to any camping gear, tanto blade makes piercing very easy if you want a heavy duty automatic this is the knife for you from cutting rope to whittling a stick down for a barbecue over an open fire.

Favorite, so far in the Launch Series

Having owned a few of the Launch series, mostly as collection pieces, with only very limited occasional use. I can say that this is my favorite to date. I believe it to have the best purchase, of my collection. The grip length, texturing, and Jimping, really hit the mark. The serrated blade, adds great versatility. And really, what can be said about the choice in steel? My only real concern might be what happens to the clothing that the grip is swinging up against all day. I did notice a bit of oddity with the difference between right and left side clip mounting. The grip is not identical on each side, so switching the clip to the other side, could change the way it slides in and out of fabric. I have to say, this is one of the best modified Tanto shapes I have come across. A winner in my book.

Great knife from Kershaw!

Let me start off this review by saying that I love the tactical look to this knife and that fact combined with me not owning any of the launch knives led to me buying the launch 16. This knife fits in the hand well. The jumping isn't too aggressive but is placed perfectly. The overall grip has a tacky feel to it and when you give the knife a gorilla grip it feels like your hand is locked in. The blade is very thick and feels like it could be used hard. The knife came pretty sharp out of the box but a quick hone made it razor. I'm a fan of the combo edge, I always seem to find a use for mine, however I feel Kershaw should release a plain edge tanto and drop point version. The deployment is amazing. I only have two other autos to compare it to but it fires hard and smoothly. I find myself deploying it over and over again just because it's so cool. The only knock against the knife is the pocket clip. It's small and because of the grip texture it's a pain to get in and out of pocket. I feel that maybe if kershaw went with a longer clip and smoothed out the grip where the clip lands would make a world of difference.All in all I'm very satisfied with my purchase and will be looking into the other launch knives available. Buy this knife!!!!

Nice knife. Strong mechanism.

I gave this a a gift to my brother. It came sharp but not blistering sharp. I put a 25 degree angle on it because he is hard on knives. I was able to get it shaving sharp in about 15 minutes. He really likes it a lot and it works really well for him. It is his everyday carry knife.

Very capable EDC/tactical option

This is an EDC knife in my rotation. Its components are top notch and well-integrated. CPM-M4 is a fantastic steel, with a partially serrated, black Cerakote tanto blade. The inserts on the handles are very grippy. The low-profile button for deployment works instantly, with a very respectable "snap". My one complaint, however, is that low-profile button. While it is a "safety feature", It makes it very difficult to locate by feel with bare hands, and nearly impossible with gloved hands. This fact relegates this otherwise 5 star knife to 3 seasons for me, as here in the mid-west it gets cold. I absolutely recommend this knife. Fit and finish were on par or above most production knives, size is perfect (IMHO), materials are premium. The activation button takes some getting used to.
