Best knives I have ever used

My wife thought I was crazy for paying a high price for a Shun knife, until she used it. It's the only knife she and I use for anything. Cuts through the hardest winter squash like they are butter. Great durability and razor sharp. Ours did get a small nick in the blade but still works as good as day 1. Had it for a few years now along with henkles, zwilling, wusthoff and even miyabi. This knife is lighter than the miyabi fusion but cuts just as well if not better. Would recommend to anyone who would like to buy one knife and not worrying about replacing it.

A faithful companion

I’ve had this knife for many years, since 2008-2009, It became my first serious buy and used it in many professional kitchens. From sushi line to to fine hotels, busy casinos, and corporate kitchens it remained a faithful companion in my culinary journey. There were times when I questioned its quality and thought at one point in time that it was a bad purchase. Today it’s a main household kitchen knife, but even with all the other pro knives that I’ve acquired over the years I fondly look upon this knife and think on how far it’s brought me. It’s lasted for so long and sharpens up easily and holds itself well to this day. However I would categorize this knife more on the utility side and wouldn’t recommend it as a main do-it-all knife for a pro environment. Makes for a wonderful home knife and will definitely serve you well for many years.

Worth every penny

OMG sharp, handle feels good in the hand slightly sculpted, appearance is one of beauty such as one would expect from the Japanese. Cut through a frozen onion with a push cut, it was almost effortless. Packaging was excellent. Haven't used it enough to need to resharpen. Using it with a bamboo board. Carefull with the edge because it is so thin don't want to nick it, don't know how durable it is VS nicks. Overall very satisfied, was a birthday present to myself
