Outstanding attention to detail

The knife was smaller than I was expecting (I have medium-sized hands) but after carrying it for a couple of days, I really liked the extra room in my pockets. The scales have a great tactile feeling in the hands that reminds me of the fine knurling on a Starrett micrometer. The blade shape, composition, milling, and fitment are all very precise and not easily achieved. I'm very happy with this blade, and I will carry it with pride.

i have purchased it as soon as it became available because I test and review knives on YouTube. My tests are pretty extreme and not every knife survives unscathed. This one passed every test: 25x 3/8” deep strikes on an oak tree with prying the tip at 20-30 degree angles. 20x full strength handle twists with the blade immobilised. Multiple strikes on the blade’s spine. I also tested the blade for hardness and it is between 62 and 64 HRC, which is an ideal hardness for the Magnacut. Disassembly and reassembly: this knife is on par with the best Benchmade examples like 940 Osborne. I found minor imperfections in the edge geometry due to barely noticeable asymmetrical grind and slight thickening of the metal near the sharpening choal. The only significant ergonomic dislike I have is the deep pocket clip protruding beyond the rear confine of the handle, which causes some discomfort when pressing the tip into hard wood. This is a personal preference, but I’d rather have a regular clip versus the deep pocket. Overall, it is an incredible knife and I would not hesitate to recommend it to a new knife user and to an avid cutlery enthusiast alike! Well done, Ben and MKM!

Great size for EDC!

Size, grip,steel, pocket clip, and action are all amazing! Instantly fell in love after getting this knife. The centering was perfect as well. This is my first MKM knife but Ben is an amazing designer so even tho the magnacut they used is heat treated less than I prefer I knew it would make up for that in functionality thanks to Ben. However there is no major issue and could be a variant to variant issue. The edge on my unit was the absolute worst edge on a new knife I have ever seen. One side was 13.8 degrees while the other was 25.2 degrees. It's so far off you can see it clearly with the naked eye. I just feel there is no excuse for that in 2024.the tip is curved when you look at it straight on due to the massive difference in edge angle. Even at the back of the edge there's a noticable high spot where whomever sharpened it made a mistake or twitched and brought the edge up way past the edge line. So I had to fix the edge on it day one unfortunately. Overall I am super happy with it but the edge issues and low heat treat of it will definitely make me second guess a second purchase from MKM personally.

A very good knife

The design is great, feels great in hand, size is sub three inches that makes it legal in my city. On the down side, the G10 scale is too rough and makes it not very friendly clipping and withdrawing from my jeans. The omega spring is also too stiff in comparison with my benchmades. If MKM makes one with polished micarta handle, it will become the perfect edc for me.

A knife that could have been great, but sadly isn't

I wish I could love this knife, but the quality control turned out to be a letdown. Upon closing the knife the blade touches one of the barrel spacers and always leaves a dent on the edge. Also, there's vertical blade play - which is something that bugs me because of my OCD. I absolutely love the design - to the extent that I might actually buy another one in the hopes of receiving a better specimen - but the one I got leaves a lot to be desired. P.S.: Ben is one of my favourite knife designers, and I am happy to support him by buying products designed by him

Design fault

Just follow up with my previous review. I found out that the omega spring tension can be adjusted. Since the factory spring setting is too stiff, I release the tension a bit. Once I adjusted it, the blade opens and close smoothly but I found out that the blade touches the barrel and leaves a dent on the edge. It is an ill design knife and I don’t recommend it unless they fix this problem.
