Anazing Quality And Blade

Yes, it's pricey but worth it. That blade is razor sharp. The button lock so easy to use. The handle is art. If you want a high end knife, you can't go wrong with this one.

2017-2021

Since my first review, I’ve carried this knife frequently in a custom leather belt sheath. I also have the Rockstead Hizen and the Ivory micarta Kei. The Shu is the finest pocket knife in my collection, and is a daily EDC. The mirror polished finished is the same as new, and occasional stropping has kept it factory razor sharp. This is a user as well as a pleasure to carry. When in the office, the Hizen is my go to pocket knife, but the Shu is my centerpiece.

Amazing knife

This knife has so many great things to comment on. 1.) This is by far the sharpest out knife I have ever handled. 2.) The action is very, very smooth. 3.) The lockup is perfect, with a great button mechanism. 4.) The two tone titanium handle with the artwork is stunning. You will pause to admire it before you put it away! 5.) The zero ground edge is not only super sharp, but polished beyond belief. 6.) Could not find any type of flaw in the knife. They went beyond reason in the manufacture of this knife. 7.) This is a unique gentleman's knife that anyone would be proud to own.

Unparalleled Cutting Edge

I use this knife as an EDC because of the weight to blade ratio. The entire knife is absolutely flawless in workmanship and the style of the SHU is about as traditional Japanese as one can get for a luxury folding knife. The most significant virtue of this knife is the blade design and its cutting edge. A convex grind with a mirror polish is visually stunning. The sharpness is extraordinary. I have never experienced such a razor edge on a folder, but the blade geometry and Rhc of 67 make it functional knife without the need to do more than stropping to maintain the edge. Methods and techniques are found on the Rockstead website for reference. This supreme quality knife is similar to having a three-inch samurai sword in the pocket. I cannot overemphasize how sharp this blade comes out of the box.
