Quick and Easy

I've used the sharpener on kitchen knives and hunting knives. It does a great job of putting an edge on a blade quickly. Just a few strokes and you're good to cut. Easy to use and sturdy.

own dozens

These are simply the easiest and most inexpensive way to put an edge on. Haven't had the patience yet to see if it'll create a razor edge. But after a dozen pulls thru each side it created an edge that had cut everything if asked it too. I've even had great luck sharpening my machete with it. You'll find one in my home upstairs downstairs in the kitchen as a matter of fact just about everywhere you look

Great Sharpener-Good Price

I have used this sharpener for at least 8 years, the only reason why I buy another is that my family always takes mine home with them.

Excellent sharpener

For such an inexpensive little sharpener, it brings most of my knives to shaving-sharp within minutes. Sure, it might not be designed so you can sharpen right up to the butt of the blade on some knives, but for the absolute most part, it does a great job. Easy to use, sharpens quickly, and inexpensive = good combination! I don't think you'll regret it especially for such a great price.

Best Edge For The Buck!

Small and cheap as it is, this device puts an excellent on all but the thickest blades. A very thick combat knife will not fit into the grooves, but other than that, this sharpener works great!

Handy for your kitchen or tacklebox .

This is one of the best little sharpeners I have used . Works best at maintaining edges that just need minimal re-work like your filet knife or your assortment of kitchen knives . This is not a good choice for bringing a really dull knife back to the day it was new . A good touch up and maintain an edge sharpener .Small , so it does not get in the way .

Knife shapener for "takeaway"

This knife sharpener is perfect if you go for hiking, mountaineering or live in a camp for a while. It is small and light enough to put it into your racksack and take it with yourself. It is easy to use, your knife will be sharp in a couple of minutes. Due to its structure a small part of the blade cannot be sharpen but you cannot expect more when you live in the nature.

Works well

This thing does what it is supposed to do, and at far less cost than some other models. Also, I really like that NO skill is required to use it, unlike a sharpening steel or whetstone. I use it on hunting knives, fillet knives, "junk" knives that we use in the garden or while fishing, and on all of our various kitchen knifes. When you're butchering a deer and your knife gets dull every few minutes, this model is hard to beat: a few passes through each side (coarse/fine) and you're finished. The only downside, as at least one other reviewer has noticed, is that you can't sharpen all the way to the end of the blade (the part closest to your hand). But not much getting gets done there anyway, so that's a minor issue in my view. Eventually, it will wear out, and you will realize this when it no longer is effective (doh!). A worn-out sharpener can also be seen, i.e., if you notice that the rods are in the shape of a "U" with a rounded bottom instead of nice sharp "V", it is probably time to get a new one. If you have a big knife like a Kabar and put too much force on it, it is possible to break the rods, but if you do it's your own fault. Don't ask me how I know this...

Great for price

I use this for sharpening my Ferber machete and Ontario marine combat knife. It gives a decent edge, that I can also touch up using a diamond sharpener but it this definitely does the job just fine. The downside to this product is that it is that holding the sharpener while sharpening is troublesome and hard to master.

Idiot Proof

I use this sharpener in a restaurant and it does a great job on all the quality knives that we have. There are a couple of cheap knives that it doesn't seem to work well on, but that may be more of a function of a low quality knife rather than a reflection on this item. Mucho bang for the buck!

Great product for Kitchen/utility work

I use this to sharpen my kitchen knifes and it works good. Gets them sharp in a short time. Not extreme weapon sharp but good enough for food prep. And for less than 4$ a steal. Cons heavy use will wear it out. But for 4$ it can be replaced easy.

Can't go wrong for the price

For $2.99-I will not complain. My kitchen knives were re-born after I have shapened them with this one. The carbide side makes the biggest part of the sharpening, and the ceramic gives the final touch. Only down side of this sharpener: the begining part of the blade will not be sharpened, if you have a knife which edge goes all the way to the handle. The carbide/ceramic rods are a bit deep inside, so that kind of knife can not reach that far.

Good Economy Sharpener

It works, puts an edge on almost any knife. I personally wouldn't use this on expensive knives, I would learn to sharpen those the right way. But if you have a EDC that you aren't afraid to beat up, by all means, this will do the job. Maybe not RAZOR sharp, but sharp enough to do the job. If you are having issues getting all the blade inside of it, take a dremel and sand down the excess plastic causing the issue. Its so cheap, you can't go wrong.

No

Trying to sharpen my brand new Ontario Rat II, Firstly, do not ever put this near a decent pocket knife. you cannot get all the way up to the end of the blade, and so it miss shapes your edge. Kitchen knifes from Ikea are fair game, and my wife is blissfully naively happy that I pull our cheap kitchen knifes through this evil device. Do not put this anywhere near a decent knife, don't.

Won't work with many knives

I like the mix of carbide and ceramic, but this is a poor design. The thing is so thick, you can't get the beginning of the edge (nearest the handle), on many knives, anywhere near the sharpeners. Maybe this makes it extra safe from lawsuits? It may be okay on some kitchen knives or machetes, but it only reaches 2/3 of the edge on all my pocket and folding belt sheath knives.
