Don't listen to the uneducated.

This is one of the best daggers on the market, for looks and for function. The people who came here to review, saying that the dagger isn't sharp enough, don't know what the purpose of a dagger is. A dagger is a weapon and a weapon only, it is also not a slashing weapon. A dagger is for stabbing only. Daggers are traditionally less sharp to avoid biting into bones as they enter flash. Some edge is good to split fabric and flash, but too much and it won't deflect off hard elements and will prevent deep penetration. Don't listen to the mall ninjas that are buying a blade to be used for anything other than its designed purpose. The blade is sharp enough to cut, but it's not a razor. The finish and design are excellent and worth the cost. If you want a long knife that's going to be razor sharp, get something else.

Daggers aren’t supposed to have particularly sharp edges.

Once again kids. Daggers do not have razor edges. It is a penetrating knife, period. If you’re slashing with your dagger, you’re doing it wrong. Aside from dispatching sentries, it has little practical use. If you just enjoy daggers and would like to add one to your collection, you’ve come to the right place as this is a magnificent example of the species. Stout, well made with excellent fit and finish.

I wrote a review saying their customer service didn't respond about their sharpening service. I was wrong. For some reason I missed the email. (I hate Gmail). They did in fact respond and offered to sharpen my knife free of charge other than shipping. You can't ask for better customer service than that! I see no way to edit or delete previous review, so this is an apology. My hat's off to Spartan Blades.

Very well made dagger

I had bought the Spartan-Harsey dagger, and was very satisfied with the quality. I saw the Spartan-George V-14, liked the design, and wanted the .25 in thick blade. The knife lived up to my expectations. It is extremely solid feeling in the hand. I found no shortcomings in the design and execution. The blade tip is needle sharp. Blade edges are not sharp (you could cut yourself but it would take some determination). After the Harsey, I decided this was a design decision, given that it is a dagger. I had it sharpened by a professional who had the carbide and diamond tooling, and the CNC's, They came out razor sharp and retained the needle-like factory blade tip. The sheath is excellent. I bought it (them) to soothe a nostalgic need. It has worked, and I am very happy with this knife.

No question about the knife.

The knife is absolute top quality. A dagger like this won't be razor sharp on the edge, in fact won't be too sharp at all. A little work and you could make it sharp, but it is slightly dull so that it wont get stuck in bone when stabbing. This is intentionally. The knife is amazing. At 0.25" thickness, this knife has more stock than most daggers while cutting out material to cut weights for perfect balance and point.

KC should mention the right things in the description.

Only one shop (KnifeCenter.com unfortunately not mentioned about this thing) was written very important thing - Blade is NOT SHARPENED (exactly as in this shop - with caps lock). I have many daggers and almost all can cut. This can't. Dagger is excellent, but in the description there should be information about cutting edge - it is not cutting edge. It is simply edge. I was sharpened this edge, but it can't cut. It can injure, but not cut. Also the same is true for Fox Bellum Daga dagger. For Schrade SCHF21 dagger.

Perhaps this reviewer bought theirs from a locality that did not allow for daggers to be sharpened, but we sell them sharpened. So, our description is accurate.

Nice knife, a razor, but customer service not so much

Not much to complain about the knife. Everything is exquisite. The tip is scary sharp. But the knife, like many other daggers has edges that aren't easy to sharpen. The company apparently does not provide any sharpening service, and ignored my email when requesting this. No human being can restore the tip and edge of this dagger to its original sharpness. It requires the companies specialized tooling. Companies like Microtech offer sharpening services for this very reason. At $400+ it would be nice to see the same from Spartan Blades.

Good for one purpose only, which isn’t good for a combat knife

This knife is good for only one purpose, stabbing. The point is terrific. The problem is, IMHO, a combat knife needs to slash also. I’d read a review where some dude was able to get an edge on the rest of the blade…. I’d like to know where, because my ‘sharpening guy’ tried and couldn’t do it, and he’s done damn good work for me in the past. The edge won’t cut paper, confident it won’t do well on flesh/clothing. An additional problem is the sheath. The sheath quality is great…. But the knife makes an audible *click* when you pull and insert it. No covertly drawing this knife. I want to love it, but cant. It’ll hang it up on the wall or something… definitely wouldn’t carry it into battle.

Blunt Knife

Having 3 others knifes from Spartanblades, this was a dagger purchased with high expectations. The quality of the dagger and its feel and balance was awesome. To be displaued, this would make a good piece. Sadly, the blade is blunt. Running the blade against your finger nail leaves no visible mark or catch. Holding the blade with your bare hands sees no broken skin. This is a highly priced trainer I would scarcely call a dagger. I am glad I didn't place my order for the other 2 in stock here (I like variations and usually own 2 to 3 pieces of slight variations). This is a poor experience and possibly a lady purchase. Be mindful when you order this dagger, it's dull.
