Great steel on a great Knife

It’s everything you love about the Manix 2 with the new steel. The steel is a really good balance of all attributes. It sharpens great and it holds its edge for decent amount of time. Honestly, I’m very happy with it.

I love this knife

This knife is my non working daily carry. I work outdoors spraying yards and use the manix 2 salt for work. I love the manix 2 great knife and the spy 27 steel is perfect for a multi purpose everyday carry.

Excellent knife and service

Great product. Even though Knife Center was out when I ordered it, the knife still shipped in just a few days.

Manix 2

I really like this knife. It's my fourth USA made Spyderco. Love the grip and the lock. No blade play. Lock is a little tight as others have said. Now that Ive had it a few weeks Ive decided I will leave the knife stock. Will not be upgrading the spring and cage like I considered before purchasing. My favorite Spyderco so far.

Good knife, but...

First off, I love the SPY27 steel, the blade, and the lock. When you hold this knife in your hand, it just feels like quality. The fit, finish, smoothness, etc.....all good. However, the ergonomics are a bit weird. Not horrible, but this knife does not fill out my hand like a PM2, Para 3, Shaman, Native 5, etc. does. Lots of people rave about how great the ergos are on the Manix 2 (I wear a size medium glove for reference), but I'm not seeing/feeling it. Also, the stock spring for the lock is ridiculous. I replaced it with a lighter spring and ceramic ball from AWT, and it's a night and day improvement. Anyone who owns a Manix should do this upgrade. The blade is very slicey and a good size, not too big and not too small. Overall, it's a good knife, but not my favorite.....however, I don't regret adding it to the collection.

Love this piece overall.

Started looking at the Manix after I had the opportunity to handle one. The ergonomics and balance are excellent which is why I was intrigued by this piece in the first place. I also liked the fact that it seems to fit a sweet spot in between the PM2 and Para3. After some tuning it has earned a place in my EDC rotation. The locking mechanism, while solid and effective, is very stiff out of the box. I did not change the spring but instead left the spring compressed overnight on a few occasions to tune the feel. I chose SPY27 for my Manix to round out my collection; it has performed as well as to be expected coming from crucible. Only part change for me was the pocket clip to a deep carry version from LynchNW.
