Description
SP101GPCBL2: C101GPCBL2 Manix 2, Cobalt Blue CPM-SPY27
Spyderco
The Manix 2 combines full-size, full-service cutting performance with the many advantages of Spyderco's Ball Bearing Lock mechanism. Offering exceptional strength and smoothness of operation, this innovative lock also complements the Manix 2's symmetry to make every aspect of its design completely ambidextrous. Now available with Spyderco's proprietary CPM-SPY27 steel, an elevated, powder-metallurgy expression of VG-10, SPY27 gives the full-flat-ground blade a superior balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. All other features of this knife are consistent with the standard versions of the Manix 2, except for its peel-ply-textured G10 scales, which showcase the distinctive cobalt-blue color of the SPY27 family.

Great steel on a great Knife
It’s everything you love about the Manix 2 with the new steel. The steel is a really good balance of all attributes. It sharpens great and it holds its edge for decent amount of time. Honestly, I’m very happy with it.

Manix 2
I really like this knife. It's my fourth USA made Spyderco. Love the grip and the lock. No blade play. Lock is a little tight as others have said. Now that Ive had it a few weeks Ive decided I will leave the knife stock. Will not be upgrading the spring and cage like I considered before purchasing. My favorite Spyderco so far.

Love this piece overall.
Started looking at the Manix after I had the opportunity to handle one. The ergonomics and balance are excellent which is why I was intrigued by this piece in the first place. I also liked the fact that it seems to fit a sweet spot in between the PM2 and Para3. After some tuning it has earned a place in my EDC rotation. The locking mechanism, while solid and effective, is very stiff out of the box. I did not change the spring but instead left the spring compressed overnight on a few occasions to tune the feel. I chose SPY27 for my Manix to round out my collection; it has performed as well as to be expected coming from crucible. Only part change for me was the pocket clip to a deep carry version from LynchNW.
