I carry this knife everyday and use it on everything. I eat with it , I cut limbs , I open everything with it , I cut tie down straps. The thing will not get dull. The best knife I've ever owned and I collect knives . Needless to say I love it.

Super solid
Everyone knows the Manix is a great knife, but this version feels sooo solid/durable with the full steel liners (My G10 PM2 feels almost flimsy comparatively!) Also, the micarta feels like it's very high quality compared to some others I've experienced.

Favorite large pocketknife
I compare the build quality of this knife to my sabenza. I compare its ergonomics to my griptilian. But it's a Spyderco, and it's just as solidly built as the PM2 or a Delica or anything else they make. Wonderful blade geometry, and even a decent factory edge. I've aleady stained the handle, but that's what canvas micarta is for. No rust on the blade yet, though I may just cold blue it if it looks like it's rusting. It's not for going to the beach and that's fine by me. Literally the only con of this knife is that it stains, but that shouldn't stop you from getting it if you plan to actually use it. The patina is the point. If you're looking for something with a blade larger than 3 inches, and it has to fold, you couldn't do much better than this.

Love it but weird material combo
Love Spyderco and this Cru-Carta Manix 2 is a great knife. The full flat grind is great and very slicey. Love the full steel liners. They look great and give the knife a substantial feel in hand. Not as in heavy, but feels solid. I like the look of the micarta but my G10 Spydercos (Manix 2 XL, PM2, PM2 Magnacut) feel more grippy. Micarta gets grippier when wet but this version is paired with a corrosion prone steel (Cru-Wear) that you should probably avoid getting wet, so don't totally get the combination. A Magnacut version with the micarta handle scales would make more sense. Spyderco could call it the Magna-Carta version and I would have no choice but to give them another 200-plus of my dollars for it.

Same workhorse with new clothes
Not going to wax lyrical everyone knows how good of a knife this is in any incarnation . It has a new outfit and it looks great and adds performance . Managed to get a double deal with knife center offering it for $160 after taxes and free upgraded expedited shipping , awesome deal guys . If your in the market for this get one you’ll not be disappointed .

This knife is smooth, the ball bearings make a big difference. I haven't put a drop of mineral oil and the action is smooth. The weight feels perfect in my hand. And I love the Brown Canvas Micarta finish.

New Favorite EDC
Now my third Manix 2, and the best one for sure. The action was a little tight so I tweaked it and its opening and closing perfectly now. I've only tested the steel on cardboard so far so I cant say much about that, but it sounds like it may be my perfect edc steel.

Very nice blade, though springs are very strong
I owned a Manix 2 about 8 years ago, blue FRN handles, basic steel, but a sweet knife, buttery smooth on opening and closing. I bought this Cruewear version for the look and feel of the micarta scales and the OP blade steel. Not disappointed, but was surprised how stiff the opening and closing felt compared to my older less luxurious Manix 2. The action on this is just stiff, because the springs are VERY strong compared to my older Manix 2. Hoping they loosen up over time.

Good pocketknife but a mediocre Spyderco
Love the materials. The knife is very solid and feels comfortable in hand. The knife is also designed like the Counter Puppy--if you set it blade-down on a flat surface, it will rest on the handle with a few millimeters of clearance under the blade. Nice feature. The blade steel and geometry are fantastic The lock is subpar. Benchmade axis locks function similarly, but they are easy to actuate with either hand. The lock spring on the Manix is quite stiff, and the plastic slider doesn't give much traction. Closing the knife without a pocketclip to brace your fingertips against (i.e. in the non-dominant hand) requires an awkward/insecure grip. Even the compression lock, despite not being 'ambidextrous', is easier for me to use with both hands. It's not easier to open than other locks (about as easy to flick open as an Endura). I also don't like amount of open space around the lock mechanism. It's very easy for dirt and grime to get onto the spring and bearing. Not the best knife for messy use cases like construction, gardening, food-prep, etc. If you want a Spyderco with great steel, ergonomics, and better lock functionality, look for an Endura or PM2.
