picture is deceiving / wow, just wow.
I just received this knife today, and i immediately had strong feelings about it. The first thing I'm going to address is why I say the picture is deceiving. picture is deceiving . I say the picture is deceiving because this is not a hollow grind knife. The picture shown is an older model and the knife now comes in a full flat grind, which I think is better, especially for this knife. That is the only deceiving thing about the picture and I will move on to the rest of my review. wow, just wow. Everything about this knife screams wow in the best way possible. Out of the box, the knife was insanely sharp. So sharp that I was able to push cut through the extremely soft foam padding the knife arrived in. The texture on the FRN handles is rough. at first glance it appears to have a purely ascetic texture, but let me assure you, these scales have great resistance to any possible slippage. Opening and closing of this knife is super smooth. There is also the perfect amount of resistance when closing the blade. Considering this is a slip joint knife, i don't see anyway you can close this on your fingers, unless you are being careless, which brings me to my next point. The jimping on this knife seems superficial, but its not. It provides a really great grip that will provide the thumb and index finger with a great non-slip grip. I would also like to mention the choil for the index finger on this provides what I like to call a "safety zone". I call it that because if properly gripped, with your index finger in the choil, it will prevent the blade from closing on your fingers. I have had this knife only one day, and I have so much great things to say about it. I DONT live in the UK, so I did not buy this knife for legal issues. I bought it because it seemed to be a great edc utility knife, and thats what it is + more. P.S. my other EDC is a Benchmade 710, which I love, but I can easily see this knife filling the EDC roll....as long as my main concern is not self defense :)
