My favorite EDC

I have 4 versions of this knife, 2 with magnacut, one with S30V and one cruwear. I have been carrying the cruwear version for years and recently switched to this version. They are built so well that I have faith in them to do everything I ask of it. Mine came perfectly aligned, easy to sharpen and fun to fidget with. I don’t need another folder(just kidding) when I have these. Spyderco is my favorite brand and this doesn’t disappoint if you want a beefy folder that works. My review of knifecenter is excellent service for years. I used to drive to their office and buy from Howard when he first opened his website.

Easily swooped into 1st place among my many folding knives! Amazing!

I received several items from KnifeCenter on 2/14/26. The absolute highlight was this Spyderco Manix 2 Salt — the black one with the handle scales like those of the Caribbean. IT INSTANTLY BECAME MY FAVORITE FOLDER OF ALL! - Super-solid build, like all Manix knives - Astonishingly grippy handle scales (Now I understand the enthusiasm about the Caribbean.) - Looks like a knife made for ninjas or SWAT team members — flat black everywhere, done right - OH MY GOD WHAT AN EDGE!!!!! Seriously—I remember in the early 2000s, every knife I would buy (Spyderco, Benchmade, anyone else) came with a barely acceptable edge, and so I would reprofile and sharpen them as soon as I got them. I DON’T WANT TO TOUCH THIS EDGE! It’s a frickin’ RAZOR!!!!! I don’t know what they do these days, or what’s different about how they sharpen knives in the factory, but THEY HAVE IT KNOCKED! I am definitely going to order myself a second one of these, just to keep a backup, because I decided right away that this is going to be in my pocket every day. I give this knife my strongest possible endorsement!

The perfect Manix

Overall the perfect Manix design, was well worth the wait. The ergonomics on the Manix 2 XL are perfectly sized for my hands (xl glove size), probably the most secure-in-hand feeling knife I own due to the ergonomics and the “salt” pattern G10. Blade came razor sharp as you’d expect from spyderco and was perfectly centered with a smooth action. Solid lockup as with all Manix designs, nice “crack” sound when flicked open. Magnacut heat treated by spyderco means this thing is as good a stainless steel knife as you can get. My one and only complaint on this knife is the stock plastic ball cage, luckily flytanium exists and sells aftermarket ball cages that make this knife even better.
