Well thought out and meticulously made

Purchased for a last resort tactical weapon for L.E. It's a very, very light weight, extremely sharp, knife that is built to take more abuse than a Jerry Springer guest, and come back for more. The H1 steel brings a peace of mind that it doesn't require meticulous maintenance if exposed to periodical neglect. It holds into the scabbard with a perfect amount of resistance and with a full handle reveal promises to be easily accessible if things go sideways. Spyderco quality is evident throughout.

great design for a tactical blade

Here is what’s great about this knife: The handle and blade geometry is great for a “bug out bag knife”. Nice jimping on the spine. Adequate finger guard and “pinkie catcher”. It’s a full tang construction. These are my “wants”: More blade thickness. Options for combo and plain edge, black coating, different blade steel (carbon!), scale material and color. Looking forward for more variations of this knife from Spyderco.

Self Defence par Excellence

The Jumpmaster 2 is my fixed blade EDC. Simple, robust construction. Low maintenance H1 stainless. Excellent grip, wet or dry. Leaf blade profile offers very good penetration potential. Most significantly, this is one of the sharpest, most effective cutting tools I have in my extensive knife collection. The serration pattern is a slightly more compact variation on the SpyderEdge present on my other serrated Spyderco knives and is noticeably sharper (e.g. in comparison to a Dragonfly 2). In self defence terms, a hit from this blade would be devastating and practically guarantees incapacitation. A dangerous weapon to be handled with care.

Nothing Like It!

The Jumpmaster 2 is an ideal knife for close body carry 24:7. It will not rust! It's light and strong. It can be worn without discomfort over long periods (sheath is excellent for close body carry). The handle fits a medium sized hand well. The blade steel is the best that I know of (no rust and keeps a good edge). I consider this the best knife available for day and night carry with lots of use. In my estimate, the Jumpmaster is one of the best medium sized utility/survival/fighting knives available. But it's a matter of how you use your knife, and what you want. If you want a light, well balanced stay alive knife, try the Jumpmaster. You won't be disappointed. I'd also like a short (15"" blade) fencing epe (with a simple rounded pistol grip with lanyard hole) in triangular H1 steel. It would be a fantastic development by Spyderco! You can call it the Fencing Master! It would be an awesome combination with the Jumpmaster 2! You would have a utility/survival/fighting knfe (the Jumpmaster), and its larger fighting brother, the Fencing Master. Hope to see it one of these days. I'll do my best to order 20 of these swords as soon as you make them.
